Forming faucet tube contours from stainless steel tube

The patent provides tooling for hydroforming faucet tube components. Matching upper and lower inserts enclose the tube, and liquid pressure expands its wall against the cavity contour. The tubular component takes its shape from these paired inserts.

ShuiYiYuan's design also addresses restraint and fluid entry at the tube ends. A fixed post supports one end; a guide at the other both supports the tube and contains the liquid passage. These components sit within the lower seat, retained by the base plate and sealing glands.

Die alignment is another focus. Stepped mating faces, curved interfaces and a sliding alignment seat provide complementary locating features. They bring the forming contour, tube-end positions and fluid inlet together within the tool.

Tube-end sealing with die-alignment features

Opposing grooves in the upper and lower inserts form the cavity when the die closes. The curved outside of the lower die fits a corresponding recess above it, with curved contact surfaces providing guidance. An upper mounting plate connects to an external cylinder for opening and closing.

The fixed post and fluid-supply guide have hemispherical tube-facing ends. A passage through the guide connects to the lower base plate's fluid channel. Flush-mounted sealing glands retain the end components in the lower seat. Their bores have different opening diameters at the top and bottom, combining retention with space for liquid near the cavity.

Matching steps locate the upper die against the lower seat. A rectangular alignment seat slides within a transverse cavity: it can remain inside the lower die or move to the mating region for positional adjustment. The fixed steps and movable seat provide distinct but complementary alignment features.

Design features

A fluid-supply guide that also supports the tube end

The guide supports one end of the tube and carries liquid from the lower base plate through its internal channel. It faces the fixed post at the opposite end. Sealing glands retain these parts, grouping tube support, component retention and the fluid connection within the lower seat.

Stepped location and a sliding alignment seat

The stepped faces establish matching positions for the die halves. The alignment seat can slide to the joint for fine positional adjustment and retract into a cavity in the lower die when not in use. Fixed locating surfaces and movable alignment hardware have separate places in the assembly.
